TRUEFER's Wine Tour

Pioneering Spirit
at 1,101 meters
From the Roots of Tradition to the Heights of Winemaking
Our history is steeped in tradition: Built in 1589, our farm is the oldest in Ehrwald. For centuries—right up until 2021—livestock breeding and traditional grassland management shaped life on the farm. But in 2021, a new, bold chapter began. Under the name *Truefers Estate 1101*, we asked ourselves a question that many considered impossible: Is it possible to successfully grow premium wine at an elevation of 1,101 meters above sea level?
What followed was intensive planning, in-depth research, and thorough training. The technical foundation was laid through two modules at the renowned Wine Academy, cellar courses at Laimburg, and specialized pruning courses. The rest? True *learning by doing*. As absolute pioneers of viticulture in this Alpine region, there were no ready-made formulas—we had to blaze our own trail.
The Terroir & The Varieties: Extreme, Yet Excellent
Starting in 2022, our slopes were transformed into a high-alpine testing ground. It quickly became clear that the climate demanded a rigorous selection process. While other grape varieties were unable to withstand the conditions and were removed, two varieties have found their perfect home here:
Solaris (White) and Sirame (Red)
The year 2025 marked a historic milestone for *Truefers Estate 1101*: our very first harvest of Solaris and Sirame from our own vineyards. The combination of cool alpine nights and warm autumn days in the Ehrwald Basin ensured slow, perfect ripening. The result? Sensational levels of ripeness and an incomparably deep, clear bouquet.

Our Philosophy
Two Tracks, One Passion
To bridge the gap between Alpine depth and Mediterranean vigor, we’re pursuing two exclusive avenues over the long term. To that end, we’ve entered into a long-term lease agreement with a top organic winemaker from Trentino:
Line MONTAN Series
Origin & Character: Produced in our cellar in Ehrwald from premium grapes that we source from our organic winegrower in Trentino (such as Chambourcin and Souvignier Gris).
ALPIN Series
Origin & Character: The ultimate challenge: Grown, aged, and pressed right on the Truefers Elevation 1101 farm at an elevation of 1,101 meters.
Sensational Successes: Honored by Falstaff
The 2025 vintage demonstrates that our courage and uncompromising commitment to quality have borne fruit from the very beginning. Both lines produced outstanding wines that won over even the harshest critics right away. At the prestigious Falstaff Rosé Rating 2026, two of our creations were immediately awarded a sensational *90 points*:
“545perl” – Our crisp, elegant sparkling wine (frizzante).
“1101sunset” – An alpine rosé dream that captures the evening sun of Ehrwald in a glass.
